Appointment Times

Fees

We offer a variety of services at various service fee levels. Additionally, each of our therapists work within a sliding scale fee schedule. Sliding scales take into account your total annual income and any benefits that you may have for mental health services.

Our standard fees are as follows:

Psychologist fee: $220/hour (sliding scale ranging from  $220-$160)
Counsellor fee: $140-130/hour (sliding scale ranging from  $140-$90)
Trainee fee: $60/hour (sliding scale ranging from $60-$15)
                                        $30/hour for students
Group therapy fee: $60/session

Trainees: As part of most professional degrees in therapeutic practice, students are expected to complete a number of hours under the direct supervision of a competent supervisor. This practice allows trainees to develop their therapeutic skills, ensure their practice meets ethical standards, and demonstrate the necessary competence to begin independent practice. Choosing to work with a trainee is an excellent way to access low cost therapy or counselling while having access to a fully trained and competent registered psychologist. For more information on working with a trainee, please contact us.

First Appointment

After you have called or sent an email expressing your interest in working with one of our therapists, you will be contacted (via email or phone) and offered a free 15 minute phone consultation so we can better understand your therapeutic needs and answer any questions you may have

You will also be emailed a Client Intake Form to complete and return to us as soon as you can. This form will then be given to your therapist and they will call you to schedule your initial intake appointment. If you aren't able to return The Client Intake Form electronically, it can be completed when you come for your first appointment.

After your first appointment has been scheduled, you will receive an confirmation email from us with some additional information, including: our location, payment options, no show/late cancellation policy, and what to expect when you arrive.

The purpose of your 50-minute initial intake appointment is two-fold. First, it is for you to get to know your therapist and determine if they are a good fit for you, and second, for you and your therapist to create a picture of you and your life that is as clear and complete as possible.

At the end of your first appointment, you and your therapist will discuss frequency of appointments and will schedule your next session. Therapy is most effective when regular and consistent contact is maintained, so please plan to schedule your subsequent session at the end of each appointment when possible.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur that require the occasional cancellation of your therapy appointment. However, since your counselling requires your therapist to reserve a significant amount of time exclusively for your benefit, we have a standard policy regarding cancellations and missed appointments:

Late cancellations made without 24-hours’ notice will be charged 50% of the service fee. Certain exceptions will be made in the event of emergency cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a no-show, you will be charged the full amount of the missed service fee.

Please note that charges for late cancelled and missed appointments often can not be submitted for health insurance reimbursement.
